Best in Basics

Looking for the best basics? Search no further. Here are five brands I shop when I'm looking for closet staples.

basics

AGOLDE

What I love them for: Classic denim and staple tops.

AGOLDE is not only my denim go-to, but they also have the best collection of tops. The quality of everything they offer is insane, and I've bought the Alma Shrunken Long Sleeve and Poppy Tank is most colors. For denim, I particularly love their 90's Pinch Waist as it's perfect high-waist, straight-leg fit.

BRANDY MELVILLE

What I love them for: Inexpensive tees and tanks for easy layering.

If you're looking for easy layers you can purchase a lot of, Brandy Melville is probably your best bet. Their tees and tanks are inexpensive, yet they don't feel or look cheap and can be worn with your favorite jean jacket or bomber or on their own. My favorite styles are the Natasha Tank and the Hailie Tees.

ARITZIA

What I love them for: Suiting and accessories.

You can really find every staple item a girl needs in her wardrobe at Aritzia. When I shop Aritzia, I mainly go for their suiting. They also have great socks—seriously, don't underestimate the power good socks have to complete an outfit.

FRAME

What I love them for: Elevated everyday wear.

I add FRAME to this list because I feel every garment is so timeless and classic. What really draws me to them, however, is the elevated feel and intentional design of each item.

ANINE BING

What I love them for: Cool twists on the classics.

Anine Bing takes your average graphic tee or blazer and just makes it 10x better. I find their pieces are edgy and versatile, combining both classic and cool. I splurged on the Zora Jacket in Black (currently sold out on their site) and wear it almost every day.
