Health is Wealth

Who said improving your health had to be complicated or expensive? Even on my craziest of days, there are five things I do that keep my baseline high.

LEMON WATER

I have personally struggled with gut issues for years, and drinking warm lemon water (and water in general) is an easy, effective way to keep my gut in check. Each Sunday I prep lemons to use for lemon water throughout the week so that this step in my morning routine requires little effort.

VITMAMINS

Duh! We all know getting the right nutrition and essential vitamins is important. I love Ritual's multivitamins because I can take them first thing when I wake up, and they don't bother my stomach. I find them more cost-effective than purchasing individual vitamins, and you know you're getting high-quality ingredients. Bonus: Who also forgets to take their vitamins? Ritual's vitamins are super cute, so I don't mind keeping them on my bedside table as a reminder.

MOVEMENT

Whether it's a treadmill series, ballet class, or stretching, I aim to intentionally move my body every day. I like the word movement because it takes the pressure out of sticking to a specific, regimented exercise. I take ballet lessons twice a week, but I supplement my lessons with various workouts from Melissa Wood Health's app. I end each night by stretching before bed.

HOT / COLD SHOWER

If you haven't heard of him already, go listen to Dr. Mark Hyman's podcast The Doctor's Farmacy. He has a holistic, simple approach to medicine, and his podcast is a library of knowledge on how to improve your health. One simple practice he recommends that helps reduce inflammation and speed up your metabolism is hot / cold showers. It's easy, inexpensive, and leaves me feeling so refreshed. You really can make your shower your own in-home spa.

JOURNAL

I'm not a huge journal gal, but I find jotting down my thoughts, what I'm grateful for, and reflecting on my day helps me positively shift my perspective and better reach personal goals. I've used and loved the 5 Minute Journal, but I was recently gifted The Dreamer Journal that is a little more free form. I would highly recommend both if you are wanting to get more into journaling.

What simple practices do you have to keep your health in check? xx
